Hello K Families!                                                     January 31, 2017

Ski day is fast approaching. Here is what I know so far.

We will meet at CCS at 8:10 outside in the parking lot to load gear and get on the bus, unless you confirm with me that you and your child are meeting us at the mountain. Kids should be fully dressed with ski boots and helmet, and ready to go. The bus departs at 8:15 and the plan is to be at Sunlight by 9. The kids who are renting and taking lessons will be chaperoned to the rental area by a CCS teacher, and possibly a parent as well. They will be in lessons from 10-12:00. I will be handing out ski passes at the picnic tables, slope- side. Once we are all ready I would suggest that the kindergarteners take their first run together off the triple chairlift. We can assess skier level on that first run and make small groups if we choose. We will meet at the lodge for lunch at 12:00. It is Boden’s birthday so we will have a little birthday treat together and sing after lunch. Please pay Sandra in advance for El Tioga and your ski pass. Kids are free. It is also fine to bring a bag lunch and leave it at the lodge. After lunch we can try and do a run as a whole group or stay in smaller groups if that works better. The double chair leads to more challenging terrain so we can decide whom wants to do that at lunch time. 1:30 is the last ride on the lift if your child is returning on the bus. If you and your child wish to stay longer at the mountain and drive home that is fine but you must let me know by lunch what your plan is. The bus pulls out of the parking lot at 2:00 to return to CCS.

Harper, Gabriel, Sean, and Ian will be renting gear and having a lesson before lunch. After lunch they may ski with Paul (Sean’s dad) and Jen Kauffman our PE teacher, or just chill out on the deck. Oliver, Nils, Boden, Bella, Kyra, Greta, Abby, Ella will all ski with a parent. Freja will be paired up with Bella and Amber, and Memphis will be paired up with Boden and his parent(s).

I will be roving, and checking in with you all periodically on the slopes and at lunch. I will be at the deck as well at 145 to confirm who is riding the bus. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. There is an attached letter of protocols for you to read as well.

It should be a great day!

Thanks for all your amazing support.
