Hello K Families! January 23, 2017
This week at school we will be finishing our paper mache solar system with April, begin making rockets and clay aliens and working in our journals reflecting on our non-fiction read-aloud. Also Angela from the Valley Settlement Project has returned to kindergarten for the second semester on Mondays and Wednesdays. She will be helping kids with their reading, writing and theme work. We have also been lucky to have Oliver’s mom come in every Wednesday Morning this semester to do mindfulness with the class. This week Dr. Bruce will also be visiting the k’s to do a science experiment on Wednesday. Just a reminder that Friday is an early release day and then next Friday is our ALL SCHOOL SKI DAY at Sunlight Mountain. I still need forms from several of you regarding your child ski level and whether or not they will need a lesson or gear. All kid-costs for this trip are covered, but we do ask parent chaperones to pay for a discounted ticket for themselves if they do not have a Sunlight Pass. I need LOTS of parent support on this trip, at least a 1-2 ratio since the lifts can be tricky for the kids. Please let me know ASAP if you can be there.
