Estimados Padres~
Things are happening in Spanish!! The 7th and 8th graders are understanding and speaking more and more Spanish daily. It’s quite exciting to experience.
You can support our child’s learning by getting involved with weekly homework. Ask your child to practice by reading their story to you out loud. The idea is to provide a safe environment for them to build confidence in speaking and reading. Acknowledge their effort! Speaking a foreign language is challenging and your encouragement will make a difference. After your child reads say ¡Es increíble! , and then sign the story as validation of the work done. Thank you so much for playing along!
Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is approaching. It’s one of my favorite times of the year because it provides a natural opportunity to learn about Mexican tradition and culture. Students will learn about rituals, decorations and foods used to celebrate loved ones. Students will create their own decorations (and possibly even make Pan Muerto – Dead Bread).
Hasta Pronto!
