Kindergarten 2022-23
Highlights from the week after Thanksgiving: So glad to have everyone back safely after Thanksgiving week. The Ks had fun sledding at recess, and also stuffies during Snap Word School, Independent Reading, and Choice Time!

Literacy: In reading we celebrated wrapping up of our Phonics Unit 2. You should have some very smart stuffies at home, as the Ks taught them all of the snap words they’ve learned so far! We started Reading Unit 3 – growing our Reading Super Powers!! Next week in Writing we will finish publishing a Show and Tell book of choice which will be the culmination of that unit. We will start Unit 3, Personal Narratives on Wednesday.
Math: Ks had fun measuring in various ways during math centers this week. On Thursday, Kristen went to a math conference with some other teachers, so Max subbed for her. They loved it!
Wellness: We are learning about the “Using Our Words Tool.” This ties in nicely to our “Words Have Power” school initiative to promote reading and writing.
Gratitude: Thank you, Parents, for helping your K decorate a box for our family giving program. We have already received many gift cards! Thank you also for signing up for our December Assessment Day. Click here if you still need to sign up.
