Halloween and Conferences

Kindergarten 2022-23

Highlights from last week: Halloween!!! What a wonderful celebration it was! Tuesday and Wednesday we had conferences – thank you parents and Ks for participating in those. It was wonderful to have the time to sit and talk about your kiddos. It was good to get back in the swing of things on Thursday and Friday.

Literacy: In reading we read the rest of the paper Halloween books which were sent home. We started the card deck without keyword pictures, and we continued with dictation. We also worked with partners on writing more about the story on sticky notes. This work is really all about the main idea in a beautifully age appropriate way.

In writing we learned to sketch out our 3 page booklets across the pages so there is plenty of time to write words. We also added a little more to our Quiet Safe Place from Homefun.

Math: In math Ks finished 2D geometry work and started Unit 4 – more on that later.

Wellness: Quiet, Safe Place reflection

Gratitude: Thank you parents and Ks for coming to conferences!
